Pair this book with last years' Omnivore's Dilemma, and you've got yourself all the food-for-thought you can handle.
Kingsolver's book is amazing on audio, with her soft southern voice narrating, and the voices of her family members sounding in from time to time. The author makes her family's year of eating locally sound less like deprivation, and more like a culinary adventure.

I am definitely going to have to check this out. Jen & Ian blogged about it. I love audiobooks and would be delighted to listen to Ms. Kingsolver.
Also, one of my Flickr contacts from Philly is involved with one local summer and I find the concept very intriguing.
My hold FINALLY came in, just in time for our book discussion group. It's a fascinating read, and also kind of makes me revolted to stand in my own kitchen-- even though we've been trying some already!
